Welcome to DoItForBrodie

A world where no young person feels alone in their struggles, where conversations about mental health are open and stigma-free, and where communities stand together to prevent suicide and nurture wellbeing.

Who We Are

Who We Are

DoItForBrodie CIC is a community interest company established to support young people’s mental health and wellbeing through compassionate, non-clinical approaches rooted in lived experience, therapeutic animal interaction and community connection.

The organisation was founded in memory of Brodie and shaped by first-hand experience of loss, grief and the realities faced by young people struggling with their mental health. While the organisation’s origins are deeply personal, its approach is intentionally professional, structured and sustainable.

DoItForBrodie CIC exists to complement existing services by providing accessible, relational forms of support that reduce isolation, encourage open conversation and help young people feel seen, supported and less alone.

Our Story

DoItForBrodie was created in memory of beautiful, talented Brodie. She was loving, kind, and full of life, but felt she could no longer cope with this world, tragically taking her own life at just 16 years old.

In the heartbreak of losing her, we wanted to find a way not only to honour Brodie’s memory, but also to reach out to others who may be struggling. What began with Horseshoes of Hope and some incredible community fundraising has grown into a movement that brings compassion, connection, and hope to young people and communities.

The CIC is our way of turning grief into something positive — opening conversations, offering support, and making sure no one feels alone in their struggles.

Why We Exist

Mental health challenges among young people continue to increase, while access to timely and appropriate support remains inconsistent.

Many young people find traditional services difficult to engage with, particularly during periods of anxiety, distress or emotional overload. Evidence and experience show that alternative, relationship-based approaches can play a vital role in:

  • reducing anxiety and emotional distress
  • creating safe spaces for conversation
  • building trust and connection
  • supporting early intervention

DoItForBrodie CIC responds to this need through delivery methods that prioritise calm, presence and human connection, rather than clinical thresholds or formal settings.

Our Mission, Vision and Values

Mission
To honour Brodie’s memory by nurturing young people’s mental health through lived experience, therapy animals, and community action. We provide hope, support, and education that helps people talk openly, connect compassionately, and live well.

Vision
A world where no young person feels alone in their struggles, where conversations about mental health are open and stigma-free, and where communities stand together to prevent suicide and nurture wellbeing.

Values

  • Compassion – We meet people with kindness, respect, and care.
  • Connection – We bring people together: families, communities, schools and workplaces.
  • Hope – We create ways for young people and families to see a brighter future.

How We Work

Our Approach

DoItForBrodie CIC delivers a small number of clearly defined services aligned directly to its mission and values.

The organisation has deliberately chosen a phased approach, focusing on delivery quality and sustainability rather than breadth or scale in its first year. This ensures services are delivered safely, ethically and within realistic capacity

Year 1 Focus (April 2026 – March 2027)

Year 1 represents the organisation’s first full financial and delivery year and is intentionally positioned as a foundation year rather than an expansion year.

The focus is on establishing strong systems, credible delivery and evidence of impact.
